Wet N’ Wild Photo Focus Foundation review

I’m always on the look out for new foundations, especially now that I’m ensuring that I only buy cruelty free. Here is my review of the Wet N’ Wild Photo Focus Foundation.

Wet n’ Wild state this about the product:

Your skin, only better. Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection.

• High-performing, breakthrough formula
• Featuring light-adjusting complex to help prevent white cast in photos
• Tested under 7 light conditions with and without the use of flash.

Although I would agree that the foundation stays the same under all lighting and looks ok in photographs, I didn’t find that it gave me a ‘flawless finish’. It’s all well and good that it has been formulated for photgraphs, but for me it doesn’t look great in real life. It’s certainly not terrible, but it’s not really the best either. I do like the packaging as it’s quite sleek and you have a wand to apply the foundation with or scoop it out of the bottle meaning that you can get out as much or as little of the product as you want.

Pros:

• Affordable at only $6.
• Wet n’ Wild is cruelty free!
• 20 shades available, not as many as there could be but more choice than a lot of other brands.
• Specially formulated to ensure it looks the same under all lights and doesn’t give a white cast in photos.

Cons:

• Not good for dry or combination skin. Really clings to the dry parts of my face making it look patchy. I have combination skin and it even looked dry on the parts of my face that are really oily.
• I’m not keen on the smell, it’s got quite a strong scent and makes me wonder what chemicals are in it.
• Doesn’t give the ‘flawless finish’
• Not about of staying power, transfers easily.
• Not available in the UK from what I can tell, I brought this in the USA. Wet n’ wild does not ship internationally. **edit, i have since found out that you can purchase Wet n Wild products from Beauty Bay in the UK!
• Difficult to blend.

Overall, it didn’t work for me, and I wouldn’t buy it again. However, it’s very possible that just because it doesn’t work for me and my skin, it may work well for others.
